The RBI Grade B Officer Recruitment process generally consists of three phases
- Phase 1: Preliminary Examination – This is an objective-type examination that assesses candidates’ proficiency in subjects such as General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. The Phase 1 exam serves as a screening test, and candidates who qualify are eligible to appear for Phase 2.
- Phase 2: Main Examination – The Main Examination is a descriptive type exam that evaluates candidates’ knowledge in subjects like Economic and Social Issues, Finance and Management, and English (writing skills). It tests candidates’ understanding of the economic and financial sector and their analytical and writing abilities.
- Phase 3: Interview – Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the Phase 2 examination are called for an interview. The interview aims to assess candidates’ suitability for the position of Grade B Officer by evaluating their knowledge, skills, and overall personality.
Candidates who successfully clear all three phases of the selection process are then considered for final selection as Grade B Officers in the RBI.
