FASTag Annual Pass Introduced at ₹3,000 for Hassle-Free Highway Rides: In a move to simplify highway travel and boost India’s digital tolling system, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has introduced a new FASTag-based annual pass. Launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the pass is priced at a fixed fee of ₹3,000 and is designed for non-commercial private vehicles. The newly announced pass allows private, non-commercial vehicles—such as cars, jeeps, and vans—to travel on national highways for one year from activation, or up to 200 toll passes, whichever comes first. Rather than paying per toll, drivers will be charged one time upfront and can seamlessly pass through toll plazas without worrying about individual toll deductions.

Who Can Use This?
This pass is tailored for non-commercial private vehicle owners. It excludes trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles, aiming to ease toll costs for regular highway users like daily commuters, business travelers, and families.
Validity & Trip Limit
- Duration: Valid for one year from the day of activation.
- Cap: Includes up to 200 toll transactions—each through a toll plaza is counted as a “trip.” After either limit is reached, users will need alternate payment.
