Dunki Box Office Collection Day 8 Report: SRK’s Dunki Slowly Moving Towards 160 Crore: Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release, Dunki, has been the talk of the town for various reasons. This comedy-drama not only marks Shah Rukh’s debut collaboration with acclaimed director Rajkumar Hirani, along with Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, but it also addresses the pertinent issue of illegal immigration, a central theme of the film. From its teaser, trailer, and posters, to the enchanting songs, Dunki has generated significant buzz in the entertainment sphere.
Despite its release on December 21, there have been speculations about Dunki’s potential to match the success of Shah Rukh’s previous hits like Pathaan and Jawan at the box office. Contrary to expectations, Dunki debuted with a modest opening day collection of Rs 29.2 crores. While it experienced some growth over the opening weekend, the film has witnessed a gradual decline in numbers following the Christmas period.

On its fifth day (first Monday), Dunki gathered a collection of Rs 24.32 crores, followed by Rs 11.56 crores on the sixth day (first Tuesday). Despite this, Dunki managed to sustain a consistent performance, accumulating Rs 10.54 crores on the seventh day (first Wednesday), contributing to an overall collection of Rs 152.05 crores. Based on ongoing trends, it is anticipated that Dunki will maintain its stability, potentially earning between Rs 8-10 crores today (day 8/ second Thursday), edging closer to the Rs 160 crores mark.
Notably, Dunki faces box office competition from Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s highly anticipated film Salaar, resulting in a tough battle between the two. Salaar stormed the box office with an impressive opening day collection of Rs 95 crores, receiving accolades from audiences. Adding to its success, directed by esteemed filmmaker Prashanth Neel, Salaar has reportedly amassed Rs 175 crores globally on its release day and a staggering Rs 400 crores worldwide within just four days of its release.
